Editor’s Note: Please read this short essay with an open heart and mind. Are you living life or just experiencing it? Are you on the bus of life, driving it, or even looking out the window? Be fair and honest with yourself. Is there anything you can change to make your life better?

——————————————–
We convince ourselves that life
will be better after we get married,
have a baby, then another.
Then we are frustrated that the kids aren’t old enough
and we’ll be more content when they are.
After that we’re frustrated that we
have teenagers to deal with,
we will certainly be happy
when they are out of that stage.
We tell ourselves that our life will be complete
when our spouse gets his or her act together,
when we get a nicer car,
are able to go on a nice vacation,
when we retire.
The truth is there’s no better time
to be happy than right now.
If not now, when?
Your life will always be filled with challenges.
It’s best to admit this to yourself
and decide to be happy anyway.
One of my favorite quotes comes
from Alfred D Souza.
He said, “For a long time it had seemed
to me that life was about to begin -real life.
But there was always some obstacle in the way,
something to be gotten through first,
some unfinished business,
time still to be served,
a debt to be paid. Then life would begin.
At last it dawned on me that these
obstacles were my life.”
This perspective has helped me to see
that there is no way to happiness.
Happiness is the way,
so, treasure every moment that you have.
And treasure it more because you shared it
with someone special,
special enough to spend your time…
and remember that time waits for no one.
So stop waiting until you finish school,
until you go back to school,
until you lose ten pounds,
until you gain ten pounds,
until you have kids,
until your kids leave the house,
until you start work,
until you retire,
until you get married,
until you get divorced,
until Friday night,
until Sunday morning,
until you get a new car or home,
until your car or home is paid off,
until spring, until summer,
until fall, until winter,
until you are off welfare,
until the first or fifteenth,
until your song comes on,
until you’ve had a drink,
until you’ve sobered up,
until you die, until you are born again
to decide that there is no better time
than right now to be happy…
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
So, Work like you don’t need money.
Love like you’ve never been hurt and
Dance Like no one’s watching.

Keeping pure conscience is the main thread for true HAPPINESS and it is further tempereed with keeping HOLINESS in it.That is by coupling it with HOLINESS in all our thoughts processes,in our words,in our deeds,in our attitutdes,in our intentions,in our feelings,(or emotions)(total seven ingradients). How nice it would be to reach the shore without having any shipwrecking experience in the voyage.

I liked this very much. I think most of us need a hit on the head to wake up, or be reminded of how simple it is to be happy. We are constantly looking for ways to find happiness, or excuses to be happy.
All we have to do is just BE….

The most difficult part of life is to accept each day as it comes or JUST BE.

I think what always makes us unhappy is what we stored on the computer in our head, those things stored would be telling us negative things like we can’t be happy without having a house,we can’t be happy without a flashy car etc,;those thins would push us to begin to seek for something that is beyond our reach and if we fail to get it frustration and axiety will come in,and the same thing will begin to tell us that we are no good. So, there is need for detachment and content for what we have and begins to live one moment at a time. Thanks for your wisdom.

I learned this valuable lesson when I became a mom (the greatest gift from God). In the beginning, I used to think things like, “I can’t wait until she begins to crawl,” “Won’t it be great to see her take her first step?” But then it dawned on me, I will never get THIS DAY back again. I learned to enjoy each and every day in life as it came. I have never been happier.

This is so true,I’m older now but I use to think that my life was bad but life is what you make it! You must live in the moment cause anything can happen in the next breath you take!It all comes down to having Faith in God because he is sure to help you in ways you can’t imagine! Positive thinking plays a big part as well! With God all things are posible! I’m a much happier person now!
